I was delighted to learn how Z-Brush could be a useful tool for illustration through this project. The goal of this activity was to combine a human and an animal as believably as possible through comparative anatomy. I included the process that I took to arrive at my final conclusion. My final character is a monk, I studied the anatomy of emaciated and elderly men which I found melded easily with that of a turtle’s. I rendered my model out with several materials and textures, and combined them in Photoshop to create a realistic final result. I painted in the background, smoke, and bottom part of his torso to extend the canvas.
